My mom suggested that we visit old people.
We all said "eh", and changed the subject.
Seth suggested that we leave something anonymously on someone's doorstep and run away.
Mom suggested that we take something to firemen who have to work on Christmas Eve.
We said "they probably like working", and changed the subject back to doorbell ditching.
So we decided to leave something on someone's doorstep.
But what? And who?
We picked a sort-of old couple down our street.
But what?
Suggestion #1: A live, wild turkey. Tied to the doorknob with string.
Suggestion #2: A baby. Not a doll. A live baby. Borrowed from the hospital.
Because there's nothing that says "Merry Christmas" like kidnapped infants and wild fowl.

I've got it, a live baby riding a wild turkey which is tied to the doorknob.
I'm just grateful that we are not the 'sort-of old couple' that lives down the street. Well, yeah, it would be fun to live that close, but evidently not this season!

Aliysa votes for the turkey idea. She used to have a pet turkey that was in love with her. He would come on our back porch each morning and gobble until she would come outside, then he'd snuggle up against her. He would try fighting with Bob and Jace. We finally had to give him away because he was picking on our dog. It broke Aliysa's heart. So, if you need any other Christmas service, you could leave a live turkey for her. (Please don't really- none of the rest of us cared for the turkey!)
Your family definitely has some really original ideas for service projects!
